Mount a Display Prop Safely
Choose a stable support method for a shelf, wall, or tabletop display before the finish work is complete.
A prop mount should support the object where it is strongest. Identify the solid casing, internal core, or base point before relying on a thin detail, strap, or decorative edge.
Mock up the angle with cardboard blocks or temporary supports. This lets you judge balance and visibility before drilling, gluing, or finishing the final stand.
Use soft contact points where a finished surface touches the mount. A stable display is easier to enjoy when it can be removed, cleaned, and repositioned without scraping the work you just completed.
