Choose a Photo Backdrop for a Game Project
Use a simple background that lets the shape, finish, and important details of a prop, costume, or display stay visible.

A good backdrop helps the project stand out without becoming another subject in the photo. Start with the object’s main colors and choose a background that gives them enough contrast. A dark prop may need a lighter neutral wall, while a pale costume or model can look stronger against a darker surface.
Keep the backdrop larger than the frame you expect to shoot. Fabric, poster board, a clean wall, or a simple tabletop can all work when they are free of unrelated clutter. Check for wrinkles, reflections, and strong shadows before taking the main photos.
Take one clean record shot, then try a second image with a little atmosphere or context. The simple version will remain useful for portfolios, guides, and future comparisons.
