Choose Lighting for a Gaming Display
Simple lighting choices can make a collection easier to see without distracting from the pieces you want to show.
Lighting changes how a display feels long before someone notices the light itself. The goal is to make the important pieces easy to see while keeping the room comfortable and the presentation believable.
Begin with the ambient light already in the room. A display near a window may need different choices than a darker shelf or cabinet. Move a small lamp around before installing anything permanent so you can see where reflections and shadows land.
Use a focused light for a hero item and softer light for the rest of the shelf. This creates hierarchy without making every piece compete for attention.
Watch for glare on glossy boxes, plastic windows, screens, and clear stands. A small change in angle can make a bigger difference than a brighter light.
