Seal a 3D Printed Game Prop Before Painting
Prepare printed surfaces for a durable finish while keeping sharp details and panel lines visible.

Sealing a print is about making the surface ready for paint, not burying the model under heavy material. Remove loose strands and support marks first. Then decide which layer lines will disappear naturally under primer and which areas need light sanding or filler.
Apply thin coats and let each layer cure. Check the prop under angled light so ridges, seams, and softening detail remain visible before you add more product. A test piece is useful when you are trying a new primer or filler.
Protect sharp panel lines and sockets by cleaning them between layers. A patient surface-prep stage gives paint a better foundation and keeps the finished prop from feeling bulky.
