Light a StarCraft-Inspired Display Without Overdoing It
Use one controllable focal light and quiet secondary accents to add energy to a shelf build while keeping the model itself visible.

A display light should guide the eye, not become the only thing anyone sees. Decide where the energy of the scene lives: a crystal cluster, a command console, a reactor-like detail, or the edge of a terrain platform.
Test the light before committing to a final mount. Move it around the unfinished display and check whether it creates glare, hides surface work, or casts shadows where you want the detail to show.
Keep wiring concealed but accessible. A removable bottom panel or simple channel makes it easier to repair, replace, or adjust the lighting later.
Use a brightness level that works in the room where the display will live. A subtle glow often creates more atmosphere than a bright source that washes out the model.
Take photographs both lit and unlit. The build should remain satisfying when the accent is switched off.
