Finish 3D Printed Game Prop Surfaces
A reliable finishing sequence makes printed props look intentional instead of hiding every detail under one heavy coat.

Inspect the print under angled light and mark seams, layer lines, and low spots before sanding. Use thin filler or spot putty only where needed, then prime in light coats so the surface stays readable.
Test the color and clear coat on a scrap print or hidden area. Metallic finishes, weathering, and edge highlights work best when each layer has time to cure.
Handle the finished prop by supported areas and choose a protective coat that matches whether it will be worn, handled, or displayed.
