Choose a Display Base for a 3D Print

Use footprint, height, attachment, and visual theme to give a printed model or prop a stable finished presentation.

A base should help the printed object feel finished without competing for attention. Begin with the footprint: it needs to look stable from the front and allow enough depth that the object does not crowd the edge.

Choose one visual cue from the project’s world, such as an industrial panel, stone floor, clean sci-fi grid, or a simple color field. Repeating one idea is more effective than combining several unrelated textures.

Test how the model attaches before you finish the base. A shaped recess, hidden pin, or modest stand can keep the object secure while remaining almost invisible in the final display.
