Build Modular Game Terrain Pieces
Create repeatable terrain sections that combine into different scenes while remaining easy to store and repair.

Modular terrain lets one project become several different displays. Choose a repeatable base size before you build the first hill, wall, platform, or road section. A consistent footprint makes it easier to combine pieces later without awkward gaps.
Keep the connection edges simple. Flat borders, hidden alignment pins, or clearly planned overlap points will do more for flexibility than complicated shapes. Test two pieces together before adding final texture and paint.
Use a shared color palette so the terrain belongs together, then vary height and surface details from piece to piece. Store sections vertically or in shallow bins with labels so the modular system stays useful after the photos are finished.
